ACT is a mindfulness-based therapy that helps patients accept their thoughts and feelings without judgment. It teaches them to focus on values and goals, and to take action towards living a meaningful life. By reducing avoidance and increasing engagement, ACT can help patients improve their overall well-being and quality of life.
CBT is a therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It helps patients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, and teaches them to develop healthier coping mechanisms. By addressing cognitive distortions and improving problem-solving skills, CBT can help patients manage stress, anxiety, and depression more effectively.
MI is a client-centered therapy that helps individuals identify and explore their own motivations for change. It uses open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations to help clients increase their intrinsic motivation and develop a personalized action plan. By focusing on the client's strengths and goals, MI can help individuals make positive changes in their lives.
ERP is a behavioral therapy that helps patients overcome fears and anxieties by gradually exposing them to the things they avoid. It teaches patients to resist compulsive behaviors that may reinforce their fears. By facing their fears and learning to manage their anxiety, ERP can help patients reduce their symptoms of Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and improve their quality of life.
IFS is a therapeutic approach that views the mind as a family of different parts or subpersonalities. These parts may have conflicting desires and beliefs, leading to internal conflict. IFS helps patients identify and understand these parts, fostering communication and cooperation among them. This can lead to greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.
EMDR therapy is a trauma-focused treatment that involves guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation while recalling traumatic memories. By helping the brain process and reprocess these memories, EMDR can reduce the emotional distress associated with traumatic experiences. This can lead to improved symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
We believe in taking a client-centered approach to counseling, where we work collaboratively with our clients to identify their goals and develop a personalized plan for treatment. When you contact us, we will begin by having you complete some initial forms. These forms will help us gather important information about your background and current concerns, and ensure that we are prepared to support you effectively.
Next, we’ll schedule a session, either face-to-face or over video, where we’ll conduct a comprehensive mental health assessment. During this session, we’ll explore your unique experiences, challenges, and goals. If relevant, we’ll also discuss a diagnosis to better understand your needs and guide our work together.
This thorough intake process allows us to tailor our approach to fit your specific needs, and ensures that we’re creating a treatment plan that works best for you. From there, we’ll collaborate on a plan of action to help you move forward and make meaningful progress in your journey toward healing and growth.
